Soup Dog opened behind Domenic's in December 2021 and quickly became one of Killington Road's more offbeat local favorites — a tiny spot built around exactly two things: scratch-made soup and creatively topped hot dogs. It's a lunch-crowd institution rather than a sit-down dinner destination, the kind of place regulars duck into between runs. The soup menu rotates constantly and leans well beyond classic chicken noodle — Thai curry, buffalo chicken, pot roast, and broccoli cheddar have all made appearances, all made from scratch with quality ingredients. On the hot dog side, the Hawaiian-style dog gets called out repeatedly as the must-try, alongside sandwiches built with locally sourced ingredients. What regulars mention most isn't just the food — it's the crew running it, consistently described as warm and easy to chat with. Now several seasons in, Soup Dog has built a loyal following among locals who treat it as a reliable comfort-food fixture during ski season. Note: it's a seasonal operation, closed in the off-season and reopening around late November.
